NEW FROM italeri 3640 – Scale 1: 24 MERCEDES BENZ G230

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class (where G stands for Geländewagen, off-road vehicle) was developed by the German company during the seventies and was born through a collaboration agreement between Daimler-Benz and the Styer-Daimler-Puch. The “G” series was immediately characterized by being extremely robust, reliable and endowed with good off-road qualities thanks to the construction lay-out and the 4×4 traction. In its continuous evolution it is still today among the most long-lived models of the German company and its forms have never changed radically to demonstrate the validity of the concept. NEW FROM italeri 2798 – Scale 1: 48 MiG-23 MF / BN FLOGGER

Designed and developed in the second half of the 1960s by Mikoyan-Gurevich, the Mig-23 has for years been the backbone of the hunting quarters of the Warsaw Pact countries. Entered into service in the early 1970s to support and gradually replace the no longer current Mig-21, the new Soviet single-seat interceptor fighter (code name NATO: Flogger) was characterized by the adoption of the variable geometry wing. Thanks to the Tumanskij engine with afterburner the Mig-23 was able to exceed the maximum speed of Mach 2.3. He was armed with a 23 mm cannon and was able to carry various combinations of air-to-air missiles in his sub-wing pylons and under the fuselage to perform his primary hunting-interceptor role. The “BN” version was developed for ground attack and close support missions. Mig-23 achieved widespread use. In addition to the member countries of the Warsaw Pact, it was used by the military aeronautics of numerous satellite countries to the Soviet Union by participating in conflicts in different operational scenarios.

NEW FROM italeri 6193 – Scale 1: 72 STALINGRAD SIEGE 1942 – BATTLE SET

The Battle of Stalingrad was a turning point of the Second World War Between the summer of 1942 and the first months of 1943 the soldiers of the Soviet Red Army faced the German army for control of the Volga and Don regions. The military operations were concentrated in the symbolic city of Stalingrad destroyed by the intense German bombing. In the ruins of the city the fighting between the two armies was brutal and violent. Among the German targets the control of the industrial area with the impressive tractor factory, converted during the war to the production of T-34 tanks, now destroyed by bombing and artillery fire. On November 19, 1942, the Soviets launched the great encirclement offensive
of the Wehrmacht engaged in the Stalingrad region. The maneuver is successful and German troops remain closed in the pincers of the Soviet armies. With the victory in the battle of Stalingrad, which culminated with the surrender of the German forces encircled, began the progressive offensive that brought Soviet troops to Berlin in 1945.

NEW FROM italeri 1425 – Scale 1: 72 F-35 B Lightning II STOVL version

The JSF Joint Strike Fighter program was set up to develop a new fifth-generation all-weather multi-role fighter capable of providing a valid substitute for the current US and NATO ground attack planes. The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II single-seater was born from the project. Equipped with an extraordinary technology it is characterized by the adoption of an aerodynamic lay-out, with stealth characteristics, with a trapezoidal wing. Designed to perform missions of air superiority, close air support and ground attack, its cell can be divided into different configurations. The F-35B thanks to its STOVL capabilities was designed for vertical landing and take-off and to operate from aircraft carriers such as the Queen Elizabeth of the Royal Navy or the Cavour of the Italian Navy. Also used by the Marine Corps, it is characterized by the adoption of the Pratt & Whitney engine with afterburner and adjustable downward exhaust nozzle. The extreme operational flexibility, the offensive load that it is able to transport, the on-board technology and the strong innovation of the project, will make the F-35 Lightning II a sure protagonist of the air force of the XXI century.
