Dragon is releasing another exciting 1/35 scale Premium Edition kit of an 8×8 vehicle from the German Sd.Kfz.234 series. This kit depicts probably the most famous variant, the 234/2 that was commonly referred to as the Puma. The first batch of vehicles was delivered in December 1943, and by the time production ceased in September 1944, a total of 101 vehicles had been produced.

Original kit of Sd.Kfz.234/2 (#6256) possessed a phenomenal amount of detail. Dragon is constantly striving to raise the bar, and so it was time to update it as a Premium Edition kit. Improvements include 3 sandwich-type road wheels as option. All wheels can be adjusted to different angles. Further refinement comes from a selection of photo-etched metal parts. The turret is accurately shaped and includes realistic weld seams. This Puma, a plastic work of art, is oozing with feline charm, and it should form an essential complement to any respectable WWII model collection.

At the turn of the year, Dragon released a scintillating 1/35 scale kit of the famous German panzer ace Michael Wittmann’s “Last Tiger” (Item No. 6800). It was a hot seller, and now it’s being joined by another signature kit depicting a panzer ace. This time a Tiger I Mid-Production kit represents the tank (numbered ‘217’) of Oberleutnant Otto Carius that participated in a short but sharp tank battle in the village of Malinava in Latvia on 22 July 1944. During WWII, Carius accounted for more than 150 enemy tanks.

This Tiger I Mid-Production kit allows modelers to precisely create tank ‘217’ of s.Pz.Abt.502 straight from the box. Components are molded utilizing the very highest level of engineering from Dragon’s experienced team. The plastic kit also includes molded-on Zimmerit to save the modeler time. There’s a generous selection of photo-etched metal parts to enhance details, and Cartograph has prepared high-quality decals for the appropriate set of markings for this battle-tested Tiger I. As the icing on the cake, the box-top artwork is produced by the famed Ron Volstad, ensuring that this kit will be a collectors’ item for many years to come. Set to become another sought-after collectible, this Tiger I Mid-Production kit is unsurpassed in its accuracy and comprehensiveness.

Dragon is reprising a 1/35 scale kit of the German schwerer Panzerspahwagen as a Premium Edition offering. The specific vehicle type is an Sd.Kfz.234/1. This 8-wheeled reconnaissance vehicle had a 2cm KwK38 L/55 cannon and an MG42 machine gun mounted in a hexagonal turret. A total of 200 vehicles were produced between June 1944 and January 1945.

Dragon's 1/35 scale kit Sd.Kfz.234/1 has been upgraded to contemporary standards as a Premium Edition kit. One of the chief improvements is the addition of three wheels that assemble with sandwich-type construction. These multiple-part wheels ensure maximum detail. Another advantage of this new Premium Edition kit is that the driveshafts and tie rods are constructed in such a way as to allow all eight wheels to be depicted in any steering direction that the modeler chooses. At the same time, the original photo-etched parts for the anti-grenade screens on the turret are supplied. Now that the Sd.Kfz.234/1 has received a stunning makeover, modelers will be able to embrace the comeback of this German 8×8 armored vehicle after such a long drought.
